Annually, over three million people worldwide die when the heart abruptly halts beating and specialized help is not provided in time. It is common to note that several organizations, both governmental and non-governmental are involved in marathon of teaching and training residents to perform CPR on adults. This is done with a blend of at least about a combination of fifteen chest densities then two breaths in per a mouth. But amongst all these efforts, some doctors are disapproving of the fact that the current procedure under which CPR for adults is being administered is a complete failure. This group of doctors asserts that the practice of mouth to mouth is the biggest problem in that it interrupts chest compressions. At this interruption, they say, the flowing of blood to the brain gets intermittent.
More importantly, the surveys show that most people would not do a mouth to mouth on a stranger. There are pretty good medical reasons for this. Therefore, they should not be blamed for that. Some are afraid in case the victim has in them some infections like tuberculosis which they might get through the saliva. This group of doctors suggests that the best method to execute CPR is through simple chest compressions, at least a hundred times in a minute without breaths. In fact, this procedure has been so much publicized to an extent that much of the adult CPR training now follows these new and radical procedures that do not include breathing. Whatever the case, both camps have their own success stories to tell.
